About this project
Currently, a hotel chain is working on the development of a hotel in subarea ‘Valley Center Oost’ and Ingenious is doing research into expanding ‘Valley Center West’ with about 150 houses in an eye-catcher that should make the area even more sophisticated.
About this area
In 2013, the municipality of Ede held a competition regarding the development of the former car park of the ‘Theater’, in the name of ‘Valley Center West’. We set out to work on this, on the basis of a very complex invitation that requested a prominent place for cheap rented houses and the expansion of the health care institution ‘De Gelderhorst’. Ingenious won the competition because of a creative, highly urban response to the invitation.
Only a few years later this could be established, due to a very complex file. This subarea is vibrant and is a mixture of 24 cheap rented houses, 43 apartments and an office space for ‘De Gelderhorst’, a Shabu Shabu Experience restaurant, a restaurant called ‘De Beren’, and a P1 car park with about 125 paid parking spaces.

The strength of ‘Valley Center’
‘Valley Center’ is the developmental area along the motorway A12, of which, among other things, the well-known and striking Cinemic Theater, currently called Pathé, is part of. After having built the ‘Theater’ and the Congress centre – with large-scale car park basement – the first step had been taken to transform this area into a lively and vibrant area where one can live, spend one’s leisure time and go to restaurants and bars.
